Climbers Group Buys Big New Climbing Area in TennesseeWoodcock Cove is 64 acres of undeveloped land with dozens of climbing routes in eastern Tennessee and now it’s protected after being purchased by the Access Fund and the Southeastern Climbers Coalition. The area was previously private property, and climbers had an agreement with the owners to cross the land and climb the cliffs. From the press release:Centrally located between Chattanooga, Nashville, and Huntsville, Alabama, Woodcock Cove sits high on the rocky, western rim of Sequatchie Valley. The Woodcock Cove project gives SCC a solid foothold to further expand public access in the area, which is home to a mecca of privately owned and untapped climbing resources.
